DDG Raises Eyebrows With 'Dumb' Birthday Gift For 1-Year-Old Son Halo

DDG‘s parenting skills have been called into question after he revealed what he bought his son Halo for his first birthday.

Over the weekend, the rapper and YouTuber posted a video on social media of him gifting the infant a red Ferrari sports car.

Given that Halo is nowhere near being able to drive, the expensive yet bizarre gift was met with a lot of negative reactions from fans online.

“This is dumbest shit I ever seen,” one wrote, while another said: “This dude always amazes me with the levels of LAMENESS he possesses!!”

Others accused DDG of being disingenous with the present, with one commenting: “Me expecting a power wheel [unamused face emoji] wtf the baby going to do with this? Just say you bought yourself a gift for your baby’s birthday.”

Someone else echoed that sentiment by writing: “I thought they meant a toy car… so basically he got his self a car.”

Elsewhere at Halo’s first birthday oarty, DDG and his ex-girlfriend/co-parent Halle Bailey reunited publicly for the first time since their split earlier this year.

Bailey also serenaded Halo by singing happy birthday to him in front of partygoers.

The former couple also posted separate happy birthday messages to their child.

Bailey wrote: “365 days ago my baby came can’t believe he’s 1 !! will post more later today.”

DDG added: “THE BEST BABY IN THE WORLD JUST TURNED 1!”

This is not the first time that DDG’s decisions have been called into question after Halle Bailey criticized him for taking their young son on Kai Cenat’s livestream without telling her.

“[H]i everyone. just so you know i am out of town and i don’t approve of my baby being on a stream tonight,” she wrote on X last month.

“[I] wasn’t told or notified and i am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people. i am his mother and protector and saddened that i wasn’t notified especially when i am out of town.”

In a follow-up post, the singer and actress added: “[A]s a woman experiencing severe postpartum, there are boundaries that i wish to be respected. nobody knows what someone is going through until they snap.”

Halle’s comments were criticized by fans of DDG, but the rapper supported her statement as the couple tried to navigate their split.
