Introducing Maryland Duo: ‘OK!’

image

Unfortunately in today’s industry, artists look for attention seeking methods to draw listeners, rather than letting the art speak for itself. Which in turn, diminishes the creativity and positive output of the art as a whole.

It’s rare to even find an up-and-coming solo artist who still holds integrity for the craft, let alone crews and collectives. However, I’m here today to introduce to you an incredible duo, OK! — who are doing their part [and more] in producing music for the love in many innovative ways.

Comprised of childhood friends, Obiora Igbo and Ahmed KazmiOK! take heavy pride in their artistic expression and brand identity. The combine the elements of both natural and synthetic instrumentation, to push the boundaries of sound to create unique Hip-Hop, R&B, and Pop compositions.

“All of our visuals/designs are done in-house and our photography/videography is led by Yusuf Kazmi. Our brand represents the combination of identities and the importance of duality. From the Eastern to the Western world, from the city to the suburbs, and within audio and visual, our identities have traveled with us through it all and It is important to us and people like us that these voices are heard.”

OK! has already assembled a list of big collaborations that includes Rico Love and T-Pain just to name a few. They have performed in some major venues as well: Xfinity CenterMilkBoy Arthouse and Funk Parade in D.C.

The duo is set to deliver their new single “Hideaway” this Friday, and provided a quick-blurb for fans in a recent press release:

“Hideaway” is our first release since our rebrand in February. The song speaks on a topic we can all relate to. We are very excited for our fans and new listeners to hear this one!”
