VC firm Mindset Ventures launches a fund for music startups

2025 is turning into an interesting year for new music-tech focused investment funds. We reported on the $50m Yamaha Music Innovations fund in May, and now it has been joined by Mindset MusicTech.

It’s a subsidiary of VC firm Mindset Ventures, and will be investing in early-stage startups in music, sound and audio tech, with an emphasis on the B2B side.

“Our strategy avoids the volatility of entertainment by investing in tools that help creators work faster, rights holders maximize assets, and consumers engage with music more deeply,” is how the company explains that on its website.

The new fund is already up and running with six investments: Music·AI; Audoo; OwlDuet; Aiode; un:hurd Music and Alloy.

OwlDuet is the one that’s new to us: it’s a “speech driven, music creation co-pilot” for musicians.
