Katy Perry gave fans a fun glimpse into her recent trip to Rome, joking about tossing her credit card into the Trevi Fountain for “good luck.”
In a video shared on Instagram over the weekend, the singer stands in front of the famous fountain before briefly throwing her card into the water, playfully referencing the long standing tradition where visitors toss coins to guarantee they will return to the city.
“Y’all, I told you in ‘Save as Draft’ that I don’t f**k with change,” Perry says in the clip, nodding to a lyric from her 2017 song, before adding, “But I feel like I need to put something in the Trevi Fountain for good luck.”
She quickly grabs the card again as it starts drifting away, turning the moment into a playful joke rather than anything serious.
Perry’s post was part of a larger photo set from her time in Rome, captioned “Just Rome’ing around,” showing her exploring the city in a more relaxed and offstage way.
The trip also included a private show at the La Nuvola convention center, although more details about the performance have not been shared publicly.
The social post comes alongside a more serious situation earlier in the week, after Australian actor Ruby Rose publicly accused Perry of sexual assault during an encounter in Melbourne years ago. Victoria Police confirmed that an investigation is currently in progress following a report.
A spokesperson for Perry denied the accusation, describing the claims as “categorically false” and “dangerous reckless lies.”
The update also follows Perry’s recent appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, where she was seen during weekend one alongside former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The two were spotted in the crowd during Justin Bieber’s set, adding to recent public sightings of them together.
