Happy Mondays have officially announced what they’re calling the “definitive” reissue of their classic 1990 album ‘Pills N Thrills And Bellyaches’, with the project arriving across several formats including an expansive 5LP deluxe vinyl edition.
The landmark Madchester era album, which features fan favourite tracks like ‘Kinky Afro’ and ‘Step On’, is set for release on August 21 and will be available on CD, cassette and multiple vinyl formats.

All of the original recordings have been newly remastered using the original Factory Records master tapes, with select editions also featuring exclusive bonus material.

The massive 5LP Super Deluxe Edition will include a 66 page hardback book featuring liner notes from author and journalist James Brown, who was working at NME during the album’s original release period. The collection will also contain essays, archival material and previously unused artwork connected to the era.
Alongside the remastered version of ‘Pills N Thrills And Bellyaches’, the expanded package will also include the ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Madchester Rave On’ EPs, plus the live recording ‘Baby Baby Big Head Bootleg Album’, captured at Elland Road on June 1, 1991.
The reissue will also feature a selection of classic remixes alongside newly commissioned reworks created specifically for the anniversary release.
