Nia Na’an Releases Single “Bobble Bobble Wiggle Bounce,” an Ode to Chicago Double Dutch

“Bobble Bobble Wiggle Bounce,” the new single by contemporary pop and hip hop artist Nia Na’an, begins with finger snaps. Then the bass drops. Massive bass.

Nia drops the hook:

I like me jelly and jam
That’s who I am
Sweet cherry jello with a bobble and a wiggle
That’s mellow
I’m that kind of fella
Make it bounce

The production keeps it simple, with bass and finger snaps throughout. Nia’s voice mixes singing, rapping, and background ad libs and harmonies. A brief guitar melody towards the end adds some musical interest. At less than two minutes in length, the song keeps it light like the subject matter: jelly, marshmallows, and sweet cherry jello.

“Bobble Bobble Wiggle Bounce” is Nia Na’an’s ode to Double Dutch, the summer game of jumping rope famous in Chicago. Picture hot summer days, children skipping rope to singsong chants all afternoon. Echoes of those simple rhymes and melodies can be heard in Nia’s vocals on the new single.

The song’s origin story is tied to the “Windy City” of Chicago, as well as southern California, particularly the wine country around Temecula. This matches the background of Nia’s manager, producer, and creator, John Martin Hunter of Cowhand Rockstar Productions.

Hunter’s production style flows from his own artistic career. In the 1970s, he founded the rock band The Hounds, opening for the likes of AC/DC and Journey and releasing two albums on Columbia Records. As a solo artist he released two more albums on Columbia, scoring a Top 40 hit with the 1984 single, “Tragedy.”

Now, his focus is on creating songs for Nia Na’an, taking on the role of management and creative architect.

Nia Na’an’s “Bobble Bobble Wiggle Bounce” began as a lyrical and melodic idea written by Hunter. These ideas were then uploaded to the latest technology, including AI tools, which produced 110 versions of the track. Hunter took pieces from these, engineering the final product at his music studio in Temecula.

About Nia Na’an, Hunter says, “She is, at this point, reluctant to come out too much into the public eye. But I think that Nia has a lot to say.”

In addition to “Bobble Bobble Wiggle Bounce,” Nia has more singles ready to drop, and eventually a full 14-song album. For fans of her infectious rhymes and nostalgic themes mixed with musical maturity, there is much to get excited about.

“Bobble Bobble Wiggle Bounce” is out now with promotional support from Starlight PR. Follow Nia Na’an at the links below.
