My Chemical Romance have reportedly agreed to stop using costumes resembling the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders' uniforms during their live performances.
The Famous Last Words rockers sparked controversy when they began a five night run at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 21.
During a performance of Teenagers, taken from their iconic 2006 album The Black Parade, the band brought dancers on stage wearing outfits inspired by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders' famous blue and white uniforms.
The performance took a dramatic turn when the dancers traded their pom poms for guns and took part in a staged shootout. The scene prompted the cheerleaders' parent company, Pro Silver Star, to take legal action against the band.
According to TMZ, My Chemical Romance have now reached an agreement with the company not to dress their performers in outfits resembling the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders' uniforms.
The deal was reached before a court hearing, with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders' side claiming the outcome as a victory.
On Friday (23.10.26), Pro Silver Star filed a request for a temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction seeking to prevent the band from using the disputed costumes.
In its legal filing, the company stated: "People in the audience and those watching online understandably thought the performers were actual Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, and they made that clear in social media posts that are still being shared."
The company's legal representative stressed that Pro Silver Star was "not litigious" and had no intention of standing in the way of My Chemical Romance's creative vision.
The filing added: "Silver Star has no reputation for pursuing legal action unnecessarily, and it has no objection to MCR's music, creative direction or the messages the band wants to express.
"Silver Star is not asking the defendants to alter their setlist, storyline, political views, choreography or even their choice to feature performers carrying guns on stage.
"The only request is that the performers do not wear the DCC Uniform while doing so. There is virtually no limit to the alternative costume designs available."
My Chemical Romance performed at the Hollywood Bowl on October 21, 23 and 24, with two additional concerts scheduled for Halloween weekend.
The record setting five night residency at the Los Angeles venue forms part of the band's world tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Black Parade.
During Saturday's (24.10.26) concert, the group performed the album in its entirety before returning for an encore featuring Give 'Em Hell, Kid, Zero Percent, The Ghost of You, I'm Not Okay (I Promise), Cemetery Drive and Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na). They closed the night with The Light Behind Your Eyes.
The band have switched up their encore selections at each concert, with Bury Me In Black, Helena, Summertime and Boy Division also making appearances during the first three Hollywood Bowl shows.
