Cyndi Lauper stops show to call out heckler in Las Vegas

Cyndi Lauper is taking over The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas for a five night run, and she is making it clear the show will unfold entirely on her own terms.

During opening night on Friday, April 24, attendees say the performance was briefly disrupted just before she launched into “Sally’s Pigeons” from her 1993 album Hat Full of Stars. Lauper appeared to be in the middle of sharing a story about the track when someone in the audience shouted something that could not be clearly heard.

“I don’t know what the f— you’re saying, hun,” Lauper responded, as captured in a video shared by TMZ on Saturday. “But please remember where you are, OK? Because if you’re trying to shade me, b—-, I’m gonna come for you. I’m from Brooklyn, and if I wanna f—ing talk, I will do a tap dance if I f—ing want.”

“Sorry, that of course is not part of my people skills,” she added with a laugh afterward.

Her Live in Las Vegas residency began April 24, with additional dates lined up for April 25, April 29, May 1 and May 2. While it is limited to five shows, it marks the first time Lauper has taken on a Las Vegas residency, giving fans another opportunity to catch her live after her Farewell Tour wrapped last year.

In 2025, Lauper was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

“It’s a community of people, rockers that have changed the world,” she told Billboard at the time. “Here’s the thing: I still believe that rock ‘n’ roll can save the world. I just want people to remember that we did make a difference. We can make a difference if we band together. We must come together as a community and make light and bring people together to make change, to do the good work.”
