Lil Wayne disappointed fans last month when he missed a scheduled concert in Bangor, Maine. Following the backlash, the rapper promised to make things right by returning for a makeup performance on July 28.
The hip hop icon kept his word and delivered an energetic East Coast show on Tuesday. Footage from the concert has since begun circulating across social media, with his performance of “A Milli” attracting the most attention.
The excitement was largely focused on Wayne’s physical appearance. At the beginning of the song, he lifted his shirt and flexed his chest and abs for the crowd. The 43 year old looked noticeably muscular, leaving many fans impressed by his fitness.
Wayne has experienced several medical concerns throughout his career, so supporters were happy to see him appearing strong and healthy. In the comments on The Shade Room, some people even argued that he currently looks better than ever.
“Everyone prioritizing health I love that for us,” one person wrote. “He looking much healthier,” another added. A third supporter commented, “I feel like he’s getting back his old self.”
Regardless of what inspired the change, it is encouraging to see Lil Wayne looking healthy and enjoying himself. He also recently separated from his reported fiancée Madi K, which may have been difficult, but Wayne appears determined to move forward positively.
His “20 Years of Carter Classics” tour resumes Thursday with a performance in St. Louis, Missouri.
