Kal Banx presents his formal debut through the all-star ‘RHODA’ album

Stepping out from behind the production desk, the Grammy-winning producer takes center stage with his debut, proving just how boundless his creativity really is. Released through TDE, the project makes it clear that the quality matches the label’s high standard, even with its sweeping scope.

The album carries an impressive lineup of guests, among them Isaiah Rashad, SiR, Maxo Kream, Smino, Buddy, Mez, Baby Tate, Pink Siifu, and Childish Major. While Banx leads most of the production, there are added contributions from Thelonious Martin, Mez, and longtime collaborators who help round out the sound.

Taking its name from his late mother, the record serves as a personal journey of self-discovery for Kal. Across its songs, he reflects on themes of belonging, identity, and the weight of grief.

Speaking on grief, he explained, “Grief puts certain things into perspective that you don’t even realize you have until they’re gone.”

With RHODA, Banx establishes himself not only as a producer, but as an artist with a clear voice and vision. The album ties his personal loss and his creative evolution together, presenting them as forces that shape both his story and his legacy.
