Kings of Leon have returned with My Whole World, giving fans an opening preview of their tenth studio album, O My Beloved.
Featuring brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill alongside their cousin Matthew Followill, the Nashville group celebrate the family and friends who have supported them on this successor to 2024’s Can We Please Have Fun.
Reflecting on the band’s journey, singer Caleb said: “We have already surpassed anything we ever imagined we could do, and we’ve built something that is so special.
“I thought, wouldn’t it be beautiful to make an album that is looking back on all of the things that we’ve done and appreciating how we got here.
“In the songs, there’s our families, stories from our childhood, things that maybe didn’t seem that significant at the time, but the way they find their way into these songs kind of lets me realise how impactful they really were in my life.”
That sense of appreciation also comes through in My Whole World, where Caleb sings: "As the wind blows there goes
"My whole world
"Like a ray of sunshine
"I'm grateful today for
"My whole world
"That sweet peace of mind."
Fans can hear O My Beloved in full when it arrives on November 6.
While making their previous album, Can We Please Have Fun, the Sex on Fire hitmakers wanted to encourage "the next generation".
Discussing that ambition with Sky News, Caleb said: "I feel like at this point, the thing we're trying to do is something that inspires the next generation.
"It's kind of hard because people don't really look to the grown-ups for answers. So we listen to the kids, we get inspired by what they're doing."
